Happy Monday, Friends!!

Picture of the week.

Once again, my early morning walks are never a disappointment. You never know who you’ll run into to stop and talk with. Actually, that's one of the highlights of my day. I have also crossed paths with many different types of wildlife: rabbits, birds, parrots, squirrels, turtles, bobcats, alligators, coyotes and swarms of butterflies to mention a few. The head of our community maintenance crew told me he has even seen a couple of bold eagles!!

One animal I have heard many times but have not seen in our Florida community until last Friday, is an owl, and in my opinion, a very big owl!! It was just before sunrise and I was in a heavily canopied walking path. I heard the owl, which was very loud and vocal. My first thought was maybe it was injured. And when I came around a curve, there it was, as you can see from the photo, just looking and hooting at me. I will admit, I was a little apprehensive. I know they attack other animals for food, and I wondered if I looked like breakfast!! It didn’t seem to be bothered that I stopped and took a few pictures. It had stopped hooting and started up again when I rounded another corner and was out of sight.

I hope everyone has a great week!! Peace and Blessings to you all!! --- Jack
