I’m going to share something a little different today. Most of my Pictures of the Week are photos I’ve taken outside on my morning walks. To give you some background, in 2021, Patricia and I met Megan Howell, Founder & CEO of Second Heart Homes, a non-profit that supports the homeless, at an after-hours function at an art gallery in Sarasota, FL. I overheard her give an elevator speech about her nonprofit housing program for homeless individuals. I was still very active, running a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Texas, and wanted to learn more about her business model and mission. We became friends almost instantly. Over the years, Patricia and I donated when we could, and we have stayed good friends.

Once I retired and began my author’s journey, and after three non-fiction self-help books were published, we decided to

to each one of the eleven homes now part of the Second Heart Homes program, which houses 68 people. When we first met, Megan only had three homes. Second Heart Homes, under Megan Howell’s leadership, is about to open two more homes.
