New Day, New Life

Happy Monday, Friends! “Picture of the Week”
Three days ago, we celebrated the Summer Solstice, the longest day and the shortest night of the year. I don’t know about you, but it’s always been hard for me to rationalize that the days are getting shorter, but it’s only the beginning of summer!
The picture of the week was taken on the morning of the Summer Solstice in 2021 from the deck of a rented oceanfront home in Scituate, MA.
All of our immediate family, cousins, and close friends were there for the “Celebration of Life” of my younger brother Mike, who actually passed away the year before, but due to COVID, we had to wait a year for all of us to get together.
That morning, I was alone on the deck with my coffee, contemplating life and why Mike left us so early, when everything aligned and I took this picture. It felt like a message: life goes on.
I thought about the lyrics in a Rolling Stone song:
“You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes, well, you just might find
You get what you need.”
Embrace what you have.
I hope everyone has a great week!
Peace and Blessings to you all!
