Something Lighter, Something New

Happy Monday, Everyone,

Picture(s) of the Week.

On one of the routes of my morning walks, I across a pedestrian bridge, which is actually nicknamed: “The Turtle Bridge.” You can look over one side, and there is a small concrete spillway where, when the water level is low enough, the turtles line up along the whole length and sun themselves. I thought I had a picture of many turtles sunning themselves, but could only find a picture with one turtle, but you get the idea.

I’ve also noticed over the last few years, these round shallow holes in the stream bed that flows under the Turtle Bridge, which I thought the turtles dug out for some reason. It turns out, it’s not the turtles, it’s fish! They start by nibbling the stream base for food and eventually dig these big holes. As they chew into the sides, you can see sand shot out of their gills. An interesting site.

I always love this time of the year as we move into April. It’s a friendly reminder that we don’t have to have everything figured out. Mother Nature just starts to bloom little by little, and so do we. Maybe this is just a good time to let go of a bit of the heaviness we’ve been carrying and make space for something lighter, something new. Nothing forced, just paying attention, taking a breath, and trusting that something good is already beginning.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Peace & Blessings. Jack
