Cloud Fascination

Happy Monday, Friends! Picture(s) of the week.

Like last week, I started my Sunday morning walk thinking I took so many nice photos this past week, I may have a hard time choosing which one(s) to share. Well, that didn’t last long. Yes, there were many, but by the time I completed my 5.2-mile walk, I knew exactly what I would post.
Over the last two-plus years and two thousand-plus miles of morning walks, I’ve become fascinated with clouds!!
It’s funny, as a pilot and boat owner, I looked at clouds differently then as I do now as a walker!
I’m in the process of formulating my thoughts into an essay I’m calling My Walking Evolution, which I’ll post in an upcoming newsletter that you can sign up to receive if you like on my website, www.jackfwilson.com. Today’s post is just a small, simple, solo cloud at sunrise. Something about it fascinated me.
Along my regular walking route there is a mile-long nature trail that I occasionally take. Every morning before I walk, I listen to a guided mindfulness practice. Mindfulness at its core is becoming aware of your breathing and appreciating a calmness that you can bring to your mind.
When I took the other photo, I had stopped just to listen to the calmness and stillness of my surroundings. There was no breeze, nothing was moving, not even the sound of birds or the rustling of rabbits or squirrels. A total calmness. It set a nice tone for the rest of the day.
In my book, “Inner Peace Through Mindfulness,” I explain how a simple breathing technique that has been practiced for hundreds of years can help you alleviate anxiety. You can be sitting, standing, lying down, in a slow checkout line, a stressful meeting, or even rush hour traffic.
As I learned, when you take in a deep breath, say or think “calm” and as you exhale, say or think “ease”. It works; I’ve used it in every example above!
I hope everyone has a great week! Peace and Blessings to you all!
