Happy Monday, Friends!

For my picture(s) of the week, I’m sharing two; one failed. I was hoping to use the photograph of the Watch Tower in Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, with the sun directly overhead.

What I could see when I took this was the silhouette of the American flag flying. Very impressive, especially taken during the Fourth of July weekend! You can see the flagpole between the sun and the building. I would think someone with a more sophisticated camera than my old iPhone 11 could have captured the flag.

The other photo, obviously, is a cloud in front of the sun, in the same area. You can let your imagination run wild and see something like a hero figure flying off to save the day!! What might you see??

I know that last week, when I mentioned on my morning walk, I achieved my personal best by walking 8.2 miles, not bad for 77 years old , and I said I had no intention of trying to break that record.

Well, yesterday morning, it was so nice out, with a refreshing breeze, and enjoying what Mother Nature had to offer, I completed 8.7 miles, 16767 steps, before I knew it. My knees complained all day. I’m thinking of giving them the day off.

I also want to share how shocked and saddened Patricia and I are feeling about the devastating flooding in Texas. With my association with many Habitat for Humanity affiliates in central Texas, our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone whose lives may never be the same again.

Peace and Blessings to you all!

~Jack
